That statue of Mary holding Jesus with the chalice (or ciborium?)is unique.

I wouldn't say "unique", but they seem to be very rare in the US.

Desperately needs a spire.

Desperately needs ANOTHER spire! While there may (or may not) have been some legitimate reasons for it, I nonetheless just hate to see those old churches decapitated!

The spire was lost to a storm in the 1920's. Come to think of it, that may be another reason spires don't last here. There's too much tendency to have horizontal weather. At this point, there's very little chance that replacing it would be economically feasible. It's a very small congregation.
I agree about All Saints. The spire looked like it would be more at home on a Wren-type building. The base of it works uncommonly well as a cap, though.

Right - storms, fires ... the risk factors of being in the Midwest.

Every day, my drive to and from work takes me over the I-75 bridge and past the Grand Three. I don't concern myself with state-of-the-art Historic St. Pat's anymore, but I do find myself saying a prayer for both St. John's and St. Peter & Paul, that they'll be spared from such undesirables as lightning strikes. I don't know what sort of lightning protection those spires may or may not have ...
